I ran 2.5" straight piping all the way back to some cheap HKS knock-offs from ebay when my car was an NA. The idle sound is low and compares to american muscle and when I got on it (WOT) it was kinda ridiculous. I can even say that it was so loud, when driving through neighborhoods some people would actually be scared if I got on it. It made the car sound like some kind of extremely fast beast... I will also say it got old fast. Driving a good hour to school would leave me with nothing less than a headache. I used my system to try and drown out the ear peircing pitch of the exhaust when cruising, only to be left with a worse headache from the combination of bass and exhaust. Honestly though, if you want "low tone and also extremely loud", just do some big piping straight off the headers back to the mufflers... that is if you're driving an NA. As for a TT, I couldn't tell ya what that sounds like I now run tpipes connected to HKS Carbon TI...
